Carnelian

When they thought that they had burnt you down, When they thought that all that was left of you was the ashes, They didn't realise that nothing could dampen your spirit. Your embers were still glowing, Enough to ignite a small flame, That caught hold of who you truly are. You no longer needed what they had burnt away, That life was over. As you recognised this, The trickle of a flame grew, Until you were alight, Blazing victorious, Wild flames rising up, To the new life that had been waiting for you all along. You are the wild fire that cannot be dampened! You are the rising flames of re-birth and freedom!
